Ensure most optimal cost of goods of the client and Supply chain on materials and world class state of the art manufacturing (incl tooling & equipment & labor) by embedding cost awareness throughout the world wide operations. Drive concurrent cost & manufacturing engineering, with a strong focus on early design participation in new product development to deliver effective industrial manufacturing processes and cost savings.

Job Description:

• Cost Awareness:
• Safeguard cost awareness throughout the operations &: manufacturing, especially on actions that have impact on cost of goods. Drive product cost down towards targets during design to cost and sourcing support towards cost targets. 
• Manufacturing for excellence:
  Contribute to the world state of the art manufacturing of the product definition, feasibility studies and value engineering analysis to derive a mechanical (high precision parts, (large) frame’s, sheet metal, construction &: mechatronic manufacturing target cost price. Support design reviews, decision processes, initiate design for manufacturing with estimated cost prices for manufacturing, assembly, testing, integration, qualification etc. 
• Operations:
  Check Cost of Goods throughout manufacturing operations and advise on saving opportunities 
• Cost Price:
  Ensure an adequate process for cost build up and cost calculation on manufacturing labor costs using set of industrial norms. Advise on Cost price when BOM as build information is not (completely) available. 
•  Control:
  Keep track of industrial norms, market and technological developments for calculation adjustments. 
• Budget:
  Support in Financial target setting within the manufacturing design specifications for manufacturing (per system, production modules, sub assy’s ). Improve the process of financial planning in manufacturing development and methods to control the costs/budgets.

Education:

Build up academic level with know how of Product- and Manufacturing Labor technology /-processes.

Experience: 

• Over 10 years practical experience and build up competences with manufacturing (incl equipment tooling) -, methodology- engineering- and cost calculation- environment (“bedrijfsbureau”). 
• Being expert in mechanics, mechatronic assembly, testing & qualification

Personal skills: 

• Strong oral and written communication skills that can convince opponents 
• Conceptual thinking with consideration for details 
• Analytical, pragmatic 
• Result oriented (wants to improve things)
